Meet Rosalie, A Student Who Helped Create The Project

Community Community

The Project at Hoxton is one of a kind – it’s the world’s first student-led accommodation. We believe that a building for students should be shaped by them, which is why we interviewed students, carried out focus groups and really listened to your feedback throughout the whole project– and even when you move in we’ll keep adapting the space to your needs.

Rosalie, was one of the students that we consulted when creating The Project. She’s a current student in London who lives in student accommodation near The Project. We listened to the best and worst bits of where she lives now to help shape the design of The Project, she explained that a gym was really important to her and that the security in her accommodation was pretty poor.  So what did we do? We built a gym and made sure our building is one of the most secure in London by having staff on-site 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, installing a hi-tech entry and intercom system and ensuring CCTV is present throughout all our communal areas.

As well as raising concerns about security in her current accommodation, Rosalie said she struggled to meet other students and make friends as there were no real events or parties organised by the building. To solve this problem we are planning to host a number of events every week for our students including rooftop yoga, cookery classes and DJ nights – and you don’t have to worry about missing them either as you’ll receive notifications through our app.

Rosalie was just one of the students who helped us create The Project, but the building is designed to constantly evolve and adapt, so we hope when you move in you’ll take control of the environment and shape how you live.
